I was pretty before I was ugly
I was small before I got big
but I've never in my life felt all that young
I've felt old for a very long time.

I am tired of feeling this way.
I am sorry that I have to say this again
but I haven't gotten much better.
This is nothing out of the ordinary.

I think that I might take a long walk or
maybe take a trip down to Idaho.
I could have the neighbor call Doctor
Osterman and cancel my appointments.
These days that seems
like a very nice idea.

I can't read.
I guess it's not important but
it seems like a goddamn shame.
I guess it isn't all that uncommon.
